The LDP-CWL 90-10 is one of PicoLAS’ most versatile drivers, offering a wide range from 200 mA to 90 A with a current setpoint resolution of less than 70 mA. For special applications, a fast current extinction of less than 15 μs is realized. The low and wide range is achieved by a combination of a switching regulator and an analog post stage. The analog and digital interface facilitates operation.
The innovative current control concept of the LDP-CWL 90-10 generates significantly less losses compared to the common linear control concept. This means that only one supply voltage is required for the control logic and the output stage.
Intended applications are laser soldering and welding as well as generic surface treatment and DPSS.
To protect your laser diode from damage, the LDP-CWL 90-10 has a number of powerful protections:

  • Integrated soft start
  • Shutdown in case of overtemperature
  • Enable/disable input
  • Driver status output
  • Protection of the laser diode against reverse currents

Our fast modulating cw drivers

The LDP-VRM and LDP-CWL series drivers are cw current sources for laser diodes or LEDs with high analog modulation bandwidth. The special feature of the LDP-VRM drivers is the integrated adaptive DC/DC converter, which keeps the power dissipation over the linear driver stage as low as possible. In addition to high efficiency, the LDP-CWL drivers can deliver up to 12 A with an output voltage of 20 V. They also feature exceptionally low current ripple.
